Privacy policy

Openness and transparency are important to us. The Privacy Act 1993 requires us – like any other New Zealand agency – to tell you certain things about the personal information we need to carry out our functions. This is where we explain our privacy practices and why you can trust us to handle your information with care and respect.

OCP collect and record the personal information you give us, or have given your employer permission to give us. The information we require concerns information about your:

  • Name

  • Employer

  • Contact Information

We collect your personal information in order to provide counselling support and assistance to you or your immediate family at your, or your organisation’s, request.

We keep your information safe at our private offices, and we only allow certain staff to access it.

We keep your information for twelve months, at which point we securely destroy it by shredding and securely disposing of physical copies, and permanently erasing all digital copies.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.

If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us by email at support@ocp.co.nz, by phone at 0800 377 990, or by mail to PO Box 36 465, Merivale 8146, Christchurch.
